I, alongside some of the brightest minds in the UW MS in HCDE 2025 cohort, am currently collaborating with Indeed to revolutionize the future of hiring, leveraging AI. As job seekers ourselves, this project holds deep personal significance, and we are committed to developing a more equitable and efficient solution. The current hiring experience on Indeed is outdated and frustrating for both employers and job seekers. By harnessing Indeed's vast network and data, alongside our own research, we aim to help employers bridge the gap between them and potential candidates, while promoting fairness and mitigating bias in hiring, especially in today's political climate. Our challenge is to explore how GenAI can enhance employer productivity, foster human connection, and create a more effective, bias-free hiring process. This project will involve user research, design ideation, and prototyping, with a focus on innovative interaction models that go beyond traditional conversational agents while ensuring trust and control remain central to the experience. Ultimately, our goal is to create a platform that employers value—one that promotes fairness, productivity, and meaningful human connections.
